Jeannette: and were you the Jeannette Smyth at the Post from about 1969 – ? don’t know if you would remember me, I went from there to Ford’s Theatre to Chicago. Nice to find you here.
Yes in Chicago 29 years (hard to write, much less comprehend) I think that 16th Street house is still standing, probably renovated and enormously improved, as has the entire neighborhood.
Yes, Kate is now older than you and I ever were – 39 last June – also here in the Chi area. Peter long gone, living in LA with 2nd wife and multiple stepchildren/grandchildren. I remarried in Chicago, one more child, and time has flown. I was thinking of your/your mother’s(?) place out in great falls, all those Sunday picnics, when it was all still country out there.
Hi- I am looking for a Jeanette/Janet Smyth that spoke to my mother, Saody Sok regarding her survival through the Khmer Rouge. You would have met her in DC while working for the Washington Post.
Are you that person? If so, please email me.
Out of curiosity, you aren’t the Smyth who wrote for the Wash Post, are you?
guilty!
Hi. Do you remember those one act plays in high school? I think you and Richard H were playing Russian Roulette.
i do remember. that was a long time ago.
